The Quakers Tea Table Overturned Once More

I’m pleased to say there has been a follow-up to my article ‘”The Quakers Tea Table Overturned”: An Eighteenth-Century Moral Satire’, which was published in Quaker Studies in March 2013. See now ‘”The Quaker’s tea table overturn’d”: A Literary Satire of the Eighteenth-century Tea Party’, by Elizabeth Stainforth and C. Anne Wilson, published recently in the food history journal Petits Propos Culinaires, 102 (February 2015), pp. 14-22. The new article focuses particularly on the poem’s detailed descriptions of the ceremony of the tea party, which include precise information about the various pieces of equipment used to make and serve tea in the early eighteenth century.
